This year witnesses a new worship element at Bethel: a new series of Sunday Bible readings, the Narrative Lectionary. Using this series of readings will benefit us with its emphasis on biblical narrative and the ways in which we approach the story of our faith. This change brings another opportunity with it: additional elements of worship will be lead by lay members of the church instead of the pastor. Come and join Pastor Chris during the Adult Forum on September 22 and 29 for a 2-part course on assisting with worship. In addition to talking about the practical elements of leading the community in worship, we will also cover topics such as the language of prayer and spiritual gifts. Participants do not have to serve as worship assistants, but are invited to consider doing so: you can attend the forum without intending to serve in this capacity.
